This morning I am sitting in my car, with my laptop actually on my lap, writing this article. There are home inspectors ravaging through our house in the transition of getting ready to move. It is an awkward balancing act; trying to think and balance this thing for an old guy is quite a sight. I have been displaced.

I have written in other articles about the narrow path. A path, that when you take your spiritual walk on, it can be very hard at times – just like the physical walk that Christ took while he was on this earth. Why can you not obtain Heaven by another path? Because this is the path that Christ took, and we can only get there by following in His footsteps. And where does the path start? It starts at the foot of the cross.

I guess it is a natural thing for humans to wonder what is out in space. I do not how long man has thought that there are little green men or other life forms out there. It was a little before my time (I would have been in the single digits still), but “B”science fiction movies in the 1950s possibly began the trend in my lifetime. The government and NASA apparently in the 40s and 50s were collaborating to be the first humans in space. We had to beat the “Ruskies”. Then, in my starting remembrance, Lost In Space came to television and then Star Trek. I sort of think it was at this point that mens’ imaginations began to run wild. I think it parallels nicely with the tower of Babel in Genesis 11. The whole world decided together that they would build a tower that would reach up to God. God watched for awhile, and then just confused them so much with languages that they all had to stop and go their separate ways. They actually imagined that they could do it. I can just see in Heaven, the angels still bring this up at coffee breaks and everyone up there is swapping stories about those crazy mortals.

What are you looking for? Are you looking to become wealthy? Are you looking for popularity? Or are you just looking for your keys you lost? How are you coping with what is going on around you? Are you joining in? Are you leading the pack? Or, are you just coping?

How Can I Fear

There are things that my eyes cannot see.

I do not know whose side you are on in this war, but it looks like the battle is heating up. I hope and pray that you are on the side of right.

4“Take heed that no man deceive you.”

5“For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.”

We want everyone to be like us. Everyone. Apparently no exceptions. Everyone wants everyone to be alike, to think the same way, to believe the same beliefs. At least, that’s what it seems to be in today’s society. If you believe different that the social norm, then you are an outcast, deemed a fool.

Does that title sound harsh? Good. If you believe the idiocy traveling around today to change all pronouns to gender non-specific you need to be thumped in the head by my great uncle’s big thumbnail! Mind you, this drivel is being propitiated by so-called Christians. What does God say about this?

You have to admit, that as a society, we do not respect fathers the way we used to. Let’s look at the past by way of the media in the past 60 years. Take, for example, the sitcom “Leave It To Beaver” from the late 1950s, early 1960s. Ward Cleaver was taken seriously by his children. They respected his opinion and even asked his advice once in a while. Fast forward to any show on the Disney Channel. Dad is a joke. Kids make fun of him constantly.  He is a doofus klutzy moron that cannot do anything right. Don’t look at me, you let your kids watch this as harmless entertainment. Think about it – it is not really harmless, is it? Disney, and other kids’ entertainment venues are telling your kids what to think and how to think it. I could go on with so many more subjects that these conglomerates are filling your kids’ minds with, but for now, let’s just stick to the subject of Dads.

I watched a video called, “All Dads are Heroes,” and in the video there were a bunch of dads doing lifesaving things for their kids. I was thinking, “wow, these guys are amazing”. Then I looked at the comments, and it saddened me. Some of the comments were positive, but most were bashing dads and men in general. Even the positive comments were saying that they wouldn’t call these dads heroes, but just some great dads.
