People often today don’t want to hear truth. They want their “truth.” I don’t know how many times I’ve heard, “that might be your ‘truth’, but that’s not my ‘truth’”.
Two Choices
People often today don’t want to hear truth. They want their “truth.” I don’t know how many times I’ve heard, “that might be your ‘truth’, but that’s not my ‘truth’”.
“If you look at the world,
you’ll be distressed.
If you look within,
you’ll be depressed.
But if you look at Christ,
You’ll be at rest.”
~Corrie Ten Boom
Comparing this with the last topic of who are you looking to, now let’s see which direction you are looking.
We live in a very confused society. Please remember that if you are a Christian that you are an alien. Have you ever noticed that when other people come from different countries and live here, that sometimes they have a difficult time assimilating to our society. You should, throughout the rest of your Christian life be trying to assimilate to the new country that you have your permanent residence in. You are just passing through here.

Well, I could not be more proud. I am also glad someone else in the family wants to get involved. My 11 year old granddaughter has a little extra something to say in this special issue on courage. Please read and let her know what you think!

I’ve noticed a trend when it comes to Americans and what they are looking for when it comes to love. I blame Hollywood for this phenomenon. Most people think love is a feeling. Their philosophy on love is written by Disney. “I’ve fallen in love” is possibly the stupidest statement ever said. Love isn’t like tripping over a rock. Love is an action. It’s a choice. We’ve substituted sex and physical attraction for love. We equate attraction with love. True love is so much more! Romeo and Juliet were immature children, yet we hold them up as a prime example of love. Romeo and Juliet should be a cautionary tale, not a life goal.
Politics is a fun topic no one else is discussing. It’s a great way to bring folks together. Good times to be had by all. There is nothing that builds unity more than a good presidential debate among family members and friends.
The biggest problem I have with today’s society is threefold: me, myself, and I. I am and have been wrapped up with trying to live a “normal” life that I constantly forget who I am – who my Father is. I am the son of a king trying to live in a kingdom that I do not belong to. I am a stranger here, a pilgrim. I am wandering thru and my purpose on this earth is to tell others about the king and what a glorious kingdom there will someday be. We are to be an example, as representatives of the Father, to point others to the path of the King.
How do we cope living in a corrupt society? It is hard to look around and see all of the things going on around us and have no control over sometimes even how we react. Take a minute. Breathe. We already have discussed how God already knew this was going to happen. It is the last days people, it is going to happen.
We are living in a corrupt society. Good grief, pretty much a whole newscast these days is depressing if that is all you have to go on. Do you know what? God knew about it from the very beginning and even had Paul, through the Holy Spirit, write about it in one of his letters to Timothy.
I have always had trouble explaining to others, and even to myself, why and/or how I can have peace with everything going on in the world. Today, the Spirit spoke to me through the Word! I have read it many times, but it never hit me before…
