Slavery Is Rampant

I am not sure who tried to come up with a politically correct term for a very ugly word, but human trafficking is still slavery. I am not sure if the new term came about just to make politicians feel better about something they could not get a handle on, or what the deal is – but slavery is slavery. It has been in existence in every culture, in pretty much every country. It was pretty horrific in the beginnings of our country, but it is and has been just as bad in other countries and is still going on today. We just try to turn our heads to it and not think about it, to make ourselves forget about it.

         This is a pretty hard subject, but that is not what this article is about. It is about slavery, but slavery that has been in affect since Adam and Eve took that first bite of the forbidden fruit. It is slavery of the soul. It has and has had an effect on all mankind since that tragic day.

The good news is, for each individual, for all mankind, God himself had the solution to this problem. There is an underground rail system to get us out of this slavery. Christ is the conductor and he holds all the tickets. There is a ticket for each and every individual. The tickets are free. The only thing you have to do is claim your ticket.

         “Therefore as by the offence of one (Adam) judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one (Jesus Christ) the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.”    Romans 5:18

         We are all slaves to something or other. Some of us are addicted to entertainment, to sports, fleshly lusts, money. Even good things can be addicting. Such as family. Yes, we can even worship family above the Creator. We all have something that keeps our attention away from our need of getting out of the cycle of slavery. I have even seen pastors so over the top with the work of the church that they lose their families because of it. Yes, we can even let the church take our eyes off of Christ! 

Race has been a smokescreen of Satan to take our eyes off the most important things – souls! “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female; for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:28-29

         We all have the promise of freedom! The world system is owned by Satan! Do not be fooled into thinking ownership of things and family and friends is actual freedom. Anything that is not of God can keep you enslaved.
