The Age of Innocency is Over

In the beginning God formed a perfect world. Adam & Eve were perfect creations in a perfect world. Satan came along in the form of a serpent and got them to do the very thing that they were commanded not to do. The age of innocency was over. They could not go back after they were evicted from the perfect world.

‘Bout Time to be Thankful Again

You are kidding me? Do you mean to tell me after all we’ve been through this year we are supposed to take a day off and be thankful again??!!  I would have thought we would just skip that this year. Our elected officials have gone off the deep end, thrown out the baby with the bathwater, gone cuckoo! After this dreadful couple of years, we are supposed to be thankful!!

Get on the Housetop

When my children were growing up I used to read them a story about a badger and his wife. The badger, according to his wife, could do nothing right. She yelled at him constantly. He could do nothing right. No matter where he went, she followed after him yelling and nagging. Finally, the only way he got any peace was to climb up on the roof and go to sleep under the stars. The moral of the story was Proverbs 25:24

“It is better to dwell in the corner of a housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house.”

Shell Them Peas; Shuck That Corn

It is near the end of the Year 2021. It has been almost a century since our country went through what is known as the “Great Depression”. The Depression sent most of the country into such poverty that finally the government tried to ease the situation off some an create the welfare program. The welfare program was supposed to get the populace over and out of the depression. The trouble that ensued was the government created a part of our society that was completely dependent on the government for pretty much all of their living – the welfare society.

Let Me Think On That

I don’t know about you, but I have a tendency to open my mouth and put my foot into it. In other words, I speak before I think. More often than not I regret it the moment it comes out of my mouth. One of the frustrating things about this is there seems to be no limit to how many times it can happen. I am dumbfounded as to why I can’t slap a whole horse into my mouth. (You know, how we say we are hungry enough to eat a horse, it’s is a miracle that I cannot actually do it!)

Things Don’t Always Turn Out the Way you Plan

Have you noticed that sometimes you make big elaborate plans and they do not always work out? You will plan a vacation for a year and have all these great things you want to do on your trip, but someone gets sick or hurt, or your job says there is a big job and they cannot have you go on this week after all. All those plans, right down the drain!

Why Would You Choose This?

This is a serious article for a serious time. If you read your Bible you know that pretty much all prophecy has been fulfilled regarding the end times. We are getting close to the rapture of the church, when Christ will call the church to come with Him to our eternal home.

An Open Letter to the Church # 2

I did this a few weeks ago, but I believe it is warranted, from time to time, to remind people that God’s Word, just like God himself, is eternal. Everything He says in His Word is always true, whether we agree with it, or whether we like it or not. It is good to go and put yourself in the place of any of the old prophets, or the apostles – when God says something to any of them, he is also saying it to you or to the Church. The Word is eternal – it keeps speaking to all generations.

Contentment

I read an article recently that said, Americans on average move every three years. We change jobs almost as frequently and probably our spouses more frequently than that. We are not content with our jobs, our homes, our spouses, our looks, our phones, our games. We are constantly changing everything. In fact, society today has become so restless that we are not even satisfied with the sex we were prescribed at conception.
