It’s Still The Blood

It was only a week from that triumphant entry back into Jerusalem and now Jesus had been subjected to a mock trial, scourging, death on the cross, and burial in a borrowed tomb. It seemed as though Satan had won, and then there was that third day. Christ had victory over death and because of that we can have victory too. The ultimate sacrifice was paid. It was paid for in blood.

People are Fickle

Over two thousand years ago, Christ entered into the city of Jerusalem in a very majestic and triumphant way. His earthly ministry had been very successful; he had healed the sick, and raised the dead. He had given hope to everyone that was sick of the current state of the land. The people were ready to take him off of the donkey he was riding and crown him king. You can read about it in Luke 19:28-35:

What Side Of The Bed Did You “Wake”’ Up On?

“And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.”              – 2 Thessalonians 2:10-11

         After the last few years, sane people recognize that the world has gone bananas!

The Pine Tree

Wow! I have to say it – Wow! Times sure have changed. Everyone gets offended at the least little thing. We walk around with our hearts on our sleeves. If someone says anything, someone else on the other side of the room will get up in arms and call for them to be fired, or shot, or at the very least, ostracized from the rest of society!

Real Hope

1. My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

*Refrain:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

2. When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

3. His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

4. When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

Something Evil This Way Comes

I don’t know if you are a connoisseur of horror movies or not, when someone tells me they like to be scared out of their wits – I wonder if they have any left. I am not sure if the desire to delve into the macabre is a human trait or not. Is it a natural human desire to be closer to the father of evil? I surmise from this, that if you desire things you should not, those are worldly desires, stemming from something, or someone that has control of your mind and your desires.

Beautifully and Wonderfully Made for Such a Time as This

Most women do not understand other women who are quiet or introverted, especially if they are wives in ministry. Many women think you are “less than” if you are not a talented conversationalist with an outgoing, talkative personality.  Some women will even try to change you if you are not talkative — It makes them uncomfortable to be in silence.  I am one of those quiet people.

Where Are We Going To?

What is the very last thing Christ instructed us to do before he ascended to Heaven? You can find that in Matthew 28:19-20 –

         “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded of you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Slavery Is Rampant

I am not sure who tried to come up with a politically correct term for a very ugly word, but human trafficking is still slavery. I am not sure if the new term came about just to make politicians feel better about something they could not get a handle on, or what the deal is – but slavery is slavery. It has been in existence in every culture, in pretty much every country. It was pretty horrific in the beginnings of our country, but it is and has been just as bad in other countries and is still going on today. We just try to turn our heads to it and not think about it, to make ourselves forget about it.

Be My Valentine (Reprise)

What is love, really? Well, the Hollywood version of love is jumping into bed with someone, then you start finding out about them, and then if it doesn’t work out, you can go your merry way. No harm, no foul. Is love just a feeling? Is it just something that makes you tingly all over. Song writer’s have been handing us this type thing for years and we have been swallowing it hook, line, and sinker. If we were fish most of us would be dead.
