Voice of the Introverts

We Americans are so used to messing things up we don’t even remember what and why we mess things up. For instance, we continue to butcher our own language. Beautiful words that made up part of our language have been relegated to the gutter. The word gay used to mean lighted and carefree, now of course, the number one definition in the dictionary is homosexual. I guess gay sounds better than sodomite.

Since Adam took a bite of that first piece of fruit, Satan has been trying to eliminate all the works of God. Satan has always been jealous of the things of God and the people of God. People are not as willing to worship Satan as they naturally aspire to find God. So Satan is jealous, and since time began, Satan has been bribing people with stuff. He even tried to bribe Jesus Christ with stuff. When Christ went out into the wilderness to prepare for his ministry, Satan came along and offered to give Christ all the kingdoms of the world. Christ refused. 

This year, as it happens, my daughter’s history focuses on the Eastern Hemisphere.  I don’t know how much you know about China, the four olds, Mao, and the implementation of Communism, but if you haven’t researched it you really should.  We are also focusing on reading and watching current events, and discussing the cultural and political events in America today.  My eleven year old doesn’t need me to point out the similarities.  They are blatantly obvious.  

A very wise pastor told me once that when nothing else will come to you and you are having trouble figuring it out in your mind, look to the cross.  There are a wide range of topics to choose from for these articles, but every once in a while, I need to step back and look up. Look up with me. Look up to the cross.

Presidential debates? It was not a debate. There was just arguments going back and forth. I will not tell you which side I am pulling for, you will probably guess as I continue on.

Sometimes, like this week, our thoughts go in two different directions. Somehow, someway our thoughts have to come together. If you study on the two different ideas though, they do converge. If you are not willing to take time out to attend a church service, if you are so scared of what the world is throwing at you – you just might not be ready.

People often today don’t want to hear truth. They want their “truth.” I don’t know how many times I’ve heard, “that might be your ‘truth’, but that’s not my ‘truth’”.

Comparing this with the last topic of who are you looking to, now let’s see which direction you are looking.

We live in a very confused society. Please remember that if you are a Christian that you are an alien. Have you ever noticed that when other people come from different countries and live here, that sometimes they have a difficult time assimilating to our society. You should, throughout the rest of your Christian life be trying to assimilate to the new country that you have your permanent residence in. You are just passing through here.
