If you have not read the last couple of issues, this is third in a series and will finish it out. The first two were Our Only Hope, and Childlike Faith. I am providing the hyperlinks to the last two, so that you can see where I am coming from with all three writings.
When I am writing this, it is from an American viewpoint. I am not sure what is going on in the rest of the world, but Americans have gone bonkers.
Parents should be providing safe havens for children. Parents should be leading children in such a way that would lead their children on a path to see Christ, to get on a life path that would lead to a heavenly existence thereafter.
Instead, American parents are allowing liberal policies to lifestyles of get whatever you want when you want – greed and selfishness. The world tried that once and God got rid of all but eight people. See Genesis chapters six through eight. Did you get the gist of it at least? All on the earth had become so perverted that God destroyed them all, except for those eight that had remained faithful. The children were destroyed because they had followed the lifestyles of the parents. The parents were responsible for the lives of their children.
Childlike faith today is becoming a thing of the past. We have shirked responsibility as parents off to government bureaucrats who are and have been trying to remove God from our culture for decades. We have been observing the effects of modern education for that long at least, or, it has become more evident.
What happened to letting children be children? We are supposed to be leading our children, not letting our children lead us. What government, or any entity really thinks that toddlers can decide that they would want to become the opposite sex, or one of the infinite number of sexes that apparently popped up all of a sudden. Ludicrous people, ludicrous! Doesn’t it sound silly writing it down? It sounds even sillier when you say it out loud.
The thing is, if you as a parent are allowing your young children to make such decisions, you are doing exactly like the parents in the time of Noah! You are leading your children to destruction.
Who’s to blame for all of this? Politicians, Hollywood, media, etc. They are all partly to blame. The thing is though, as a parent,you can’t shift the blame to someone else. You have the responsibility of raising your children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. This goes for all stripes of parents. Christian, non-Christian alike: you have this responsibility to raise your child to follow Christ. It is up to YOU!
“Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
When a child is born, he or she is innocent. In that innocence is an innate, natural inclination to believe in their Creator. It is you, the parent, that decides whether to keep children innocent or strip that innocence away. It is when a child has been fed so much of the world that they think like the world that that innocence gets mutilated. Childlike faith cannot stay in a vessel that has been contaminated by the world.
“But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him (or her) that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe unto the world because of offences! For it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!” Matthew 18:6-7
Let your children be children! Let your girls be girls and your boys be boys! Keep that innate innocence there as long as it is possible! It’s hard to do in this world, but with God’s help it is still possible!
It’s the childlike faith that keeps us going, that’s the key!
“And he (Jesus) said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3-4
