Is The Pen Really Mightier Than The Sword?

I always thought that this quote was written by Shakespeare. It turns out this was first written by an old English dude named Edward Bulwer-Lytton in 1839, in his historical play Cardinal Richelieu. It is more than likely an American thing that I did not know this. In fact, I had never heard of the guy. I guess this means that Shakespeare’s pen was very mighty indeed, since a lot of us think that he said it.

I started this blog back in the latter part of 2020, in the hopes that, since my little voice has a hard time connecting with, well, anyone for that matter! I was never able to approach people in a one-on-one setting. This is not a good thing for a Christian who is supposed to be helping to spread the gospel to individuals. “Well,” I said to myself, “Well, I can actually lay out my thoughts on paper, and since this contraption called the internet is available, I could potentially convey my thoughts to a good number of people; maybe even people who are in need of hearing the gospel.” Friends – that is a lot of people!

I was in for a rude awakening though. To actually be able to have someone throw things out there on the internet is a little more than my budget can handle. It is free to write and to publish, but for the publisher to actually get the blog into a lot of different sites the cost is and was, very prohibitive. I shared and do share the blog on Facebook and MeWe, but at the present time I get less than 20 views per session. All of this means that my voice and/or my pen are not very mighty.

I am asking you reader, to help me get the word out. When you open up one of my posts there is a menu at the bottom that says simply, “Share this.” Under that heading you can share to Facebook, MeWe, Twitter, and others. There are also pop up tabs that say “comment” or “follow”.  Let’s get some dialogues going – that is what the comment section is for. Your comments could help someone understand what it is we are trying to get across. If you get involved with this, maybe someone else will, and so on.

Thanks to everyone that has been reading the articles!
