Let’s continue with the vein of thought from part one of this two part series as we call for a younger generation to try and fix some mis-guidances in the church. In other words, let’s blow some things up!
To begin with, if it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it! If it is in the Bible, don’t try to add your two cents worth. You can change the way you present God’s word, just don’t try to change God’s word itself.
How can you present God’s word with your own values? If you bring in your lifestyle into the church to present the gospel, how will this gospel be any different from your lifestyle? You cannot love (or live) your lifestyle and present the gospel if your lifestyle is worldly.
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the lover of the Father is not in him.”
“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not the Father, but is of the world.” – 1 John 2:15-16
When false teachers were trying to come in the church in the first century, Peter warned the congregation of the dangers of choosing to follow such leadership and ended with this warning in 2 Peter 3:
“…beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance;”
“That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Savior;”
“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,”
“And saying, Where is the promise of his coming?…”
Please remember, that in today’s society, the spirit of anti-Christ is everywhere. It is going to be hard to combat. There are a lot people that question God, that question Christ; some even saying outright that parts or all of the Bible are not relevant anymore. The culture is trying to get rid of us because of their own guilt – society cannot live with a God that judges.”
“And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” Revelation 22:19
To a godless society, those are fighting words. Don’t think it odd when you are at odds with the world. You have to continue to believe God’s word, no matter the difficulties that come your way. It shouldn’t be a strange thing to grasp. The culture has been picking away at scripture for generations now and we have been letting our children learn from our culture instead of from us. At this point in the generational slide these children have been ripping out any resemblance of God from our society – because it is no longer “relevant”. We now trust in science instead of God.
Let us start at the beginning. The very basics of scripture are found in Genesis 1:1 – “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Men have ripped that from the general understanding of the scripture so completely that the very foundations of God’s word are not understood even in the churches today. Church leaders are going along with Darwin’s evolution “theory” and finding ways to incorporate such satanic drivel into the understanding of their congregations (if this is happening to you, run, do not walk, to the nearest exit). If we take away the very basics of our beliefs, we are basically telling God that we know more than He!
I cannot emphasis enough the need of basics, of getting back to scripture and letting God be you guide through them. We are looking forward to the future and what God and do with the younger generation of the true church today. Be steadfast.
“Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures. You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:14 – 18 (NKJV)
