I sometimes shake my head in amazement that what we, as a society, as a country, have gotten ourselves into. For years now, since I was very young, I have been hearing the expression that we need to learn from history, but it seems as if the only thing we have learned from history is “how to” repeat it.
It is our own fault. We have stood by while elites in the government went against the wishes of the majority and took prayer out of schools, voted in permission to kill the unborn, and other such drastic societal changes. I still do not believe that it is the majority that want such idiotic laws passed. We, though, as the conservative majority have voted in the ultra “progressive” factions that have passed such radical changes.
I put progressive in quotes because it is not progress. Progress would indicate that you moved forward. We might have made some progress in technology, but that is about it. Morals and standards have continually declined since the end of WWII. It probably started before that, but I can only call it from where I sees it.
When you have the likes of Biden, Pelosi, Harris, Schumer on the front lines in D.C., the downhill slide is more of a straight drop than a slide. Yet, there are those condemning right and uplifting wrong – exactly like the Lord predicted in the Scriptures.
“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
“Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!”
“Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!” – Isaiah 5:20, 21, 23
This is what is happening though – right before our eyes! So what will happen at the end (and the end is coming – quicker than you think)?
“But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;”
“Who will render to every man according to his deeds:”
“To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:”
“But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,”
“Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;”
“But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile;”
“For there is no respect of persons with God.” Romans 2:5-11
So, every one will be judged for their deeds – rich and poor alike, but all will be judged. That is why we, as Christians continue to do exactly as the Lord commanded – go and tell. In today’s climate, we get chastened for it, but that is all part of the cycle where men do not learn from history, and pretty soon history is going to come to an end – so continue to tell until the clouds part and He comes for His own! Come quickly, Lord!
