An Open Letter to the Church # 2

I did this a few weeks ago, but I believe it is warranted, from time to time, to remind people that God’s Word, just like God himself, is eternal. Everything He says in His Word is always true, whether we agree with it, or whether we like it or not. It is good to go and put yourself in the place of any of the old prophets, or the apostles – when God says something to any of them, he is also saying it to you or to the Church. The Word is eternal – it keeps speaking to all generations.

Today, I felt it necessary to go to the book of Psalms – I felt that it was a need that the Church see God speaking in chapter 3. Continue to read and I pray that you will see that God is speaking not only through David, but to you and to me, to the Church – in all generations.

LORD, how are they increased that trouble us! Many are they that rise up against us.

Many there be which say of our souls, There is no help for them in God. Forever.

But thou, O LORD, art a shield for us; our glory, and the lifter of our heads.

We cry unto the LORD with our voices, and He hears us out of His holy hill. Forever.

We lay down and sleep; we awake; for the LORD sustains us.

We will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against us round about.

Arise, O LORD; save us, O our God; for thous hast smitten all our enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Forever.

Keep this in mind, Church, when you see the world around falling into disarray, when it looks like you are being persecuted –

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness, but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.                     2 Peter 3:9

We see in the world around us His promises coming to fruition. The signs of the end times are here, but He is not slack concerning the promise of His coming. He is just waiting for that very last soul to come to Him. Don’t get impatient. Keep remembering all His promises. Who knows, that last soul could be your son, your daughter, your father, your mother, or even that funny acting guy down the street that you are not particularly fond of. In fact, you might better go talk to that guy down the street – you could be the one that would influence him to come to Christ.

Don’t slack off Church. Don’t slack off.
