They’re Out There Buddy!

I guess it is a natural thing for humans to wonder what is out in space. I do not how long man has thought that there are little green men or other life forms out there. It was a little before my time (I would have been in the single digits still), but “B”science fiction movies in the 1950s possibly began the trend in my lifetime. The government and NASA apparently in the 40s and 50s were collaborating to be the first humans in space. We had to beat the “Ruskies”. Then, in my starting remembrance, Lost In Space came to television and then Star Trek. I sort of think it was at this point that mens’ imaginations began to run wild. I think it parallels nicely with the tower of Babel in Genesis 11. The whole world decided together that they would build a tower that would reach up to God. God watched for awhile, and then just confused them so much with languages that they all had to stop and go their separate ways. They actually imagined that they could do it. I can just see in Heaven, the angels still bring this up at coffee breaks and everyone up there is swapping stories about those crazy mortals.

Fast forward to today – men have been clamoring since I was young that they would build spaceships to get us into space and visit other species and swap stories. According to Star Trek and Star Wars we will be co-habitating and all sorts of other things with all the friendly aliens we will find and conquering all the nasty lizard-like creatures that are not friendly (that is, if they don’t get us first)!

Movies and books are tremendous, they make the imagination soar. Since the 60s and all the science fiction that has been put out there, I believe the general public now believes that we are going to be either invaded or have peaceful visits from all sorts of life forms.

Go back and look at the title of these books and movies – they all fall  under the genre of science fiction. Do you see the emphasis on the word fiction? What happens is, the media, the public, and most assuredly put the emphasis on the word science! I think what happens is when it is talked about, they say science fiction but as they are saying the word fiction the volume of their voice lowers about 10 octaves so that is what the general consensus zeros in on.

I will start first with my opinion – people are stupid! Secondly, I will go back and listen to what Shakespeare said, “Lord, what fools these mortals be!”

Now, I will look at the only opinion that matters – that of God Himself!

“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”

“Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.”

Romans 1:21-22

So what am I saying? With space exploration, just like everything else that man puts his mind to, it becomes something that man is using to make himself his own god. Man thinks he is smarter than God. Man takes simple little stories and embellishes them so much that everyone now believe men rather than God. Just like with Eve and the fruit she took from Satan – Eve believed she could be equal and know as much as God. And now, man tries to tell how smart he is by slapping the word science in front of the word fiction, hiding the word fiction, and brings down a whole society with his worldly wisdom!

If you talk to a Trekkie (Star Trek) fan, they more than likely believe that someday soon we are going to get word from a higher intelligence that will make us all live in peace together if they don’t kill us first.

I’m truly sorry, but I think I have to throw my opinion in one more time here at the last – People are stupid naturally!
